My name is Carol van den Hoogen, and for as long as I can remember, I’ve been working on creative projects. After a period of making realistic pencil drawings, I switched to Indian ink, and my style gradually became looser and more minimalist. I began to truly appreciate the power of (seemingly simple) line drawings.
A few years ago, I came across the website of an American artist who was making wire sculptures. I was immediately intrigued — that’s what I wanted to do too.
It turned out to be the perfect combination. I already knew how to create line drawings, but “drawing” with wire was something I still had to learn. Through trial and error, I eventually mastered the technique.
